Accused: Four NYPD detectives have been remanded on desk duty amid allegations of sexual assault by a waitress during a booze-soaked on-duty lunch

Four NYPD detectives have been remanded on desk duty amid allegations of sexual assault of a waitress during a booze-soaked on-duty lunch.

The four have had to hand in their guns and badges, after claims that they drank alcohol at the Washington Heights, Manhattan restaurant during a shift last week.

One detective is being investigated by NYPD Internal Affairs for sexual assault of the waitress in Parila steakhouse.

We are investigating whether or not one of the officers sexually assaulted this woman,' an unnamed law enforcement official told the NY Daily News,

The four 33rd Precinct detectives, enjoyed a drawn out meal on February 16. Although two officers left for a while, they later returned.

The waitress said she fell asleep at the the back of the restaurant and woke up to discover one of the restaurant owners molesting her.

Her account also indicated that a police officer escorted her to the back of the restaurant, according to the official. Internal Affairs are now investigating whether the officer paid the waitress for sex.

'Several hundred dollars may have exchanged hands,' the official told the Daily News 'And the owner is maybe an intermediary.

Surveillance footage seems to show all four officers drinking wine.

Lawyer for the detectives Philip E. Karasyk said: 'It is our understanding that at no time did the waitress make any allegation of inappropriate sexual conduct against any of the detectives.

He added, 'As recent similar events have demonstrated, it is unfair and unwise to rush to judgment.

No criminal charges have so far been filed.
